theLearningBusiness uses a wide range of powerful tools and features to help you collaborate. There are live online tools (synchronous) and features you can use anytime it suits you (asynchronous). There are 5 groups of features:

Personal Tools and Features

You can personalise the way theLearningBusiness works for you. You can change your password, set up a personal profile, protect your personal information from others, set your own goals, keep a learning log, choose which e-communities others can see you, and when you’re online you can choose when you can be contacted.

Anytime Tools and Features

Within each community you can access a range of asynchronous tools to share and communicate. These include sending personal messages to others, including to their external emails, discussion boards, file sharing libraries and favourite web links.

Realtime Tools and Features

There are a range of powerful live online tools that can open up new ways of working and learning together. These include online presence, where you can see who else is online. You can then open a ‘chat’ with them and extend this to include whiteboard, screen sharing (where you can all work on the same application such as Excel) and audio and video conferencing. There is everything you need for regular collaborative working and learning.

Coaching Tools and Features

Coaches need special features to run courses and e-communities. Coaches and moderators can add any content they like, upload Word and Powerpoint files, stream video, create and edit web pages online without any special web design skills or software, mange their discussion boards and file share areas, collate learning logs and assessments. Productivity Tool

Some e-communities and networks need particular productivity tools suited to the needs of their group. We can add calandaring, project management, CRM tools, creativity, brainstorming and peer review tools to help you get the most out of your community. We develop bespoke tools to suit your needs.
